The term "criminal records" is misleading. The better term is "public records." Criminal records are court records that include a person's past misdemeanor and felony convictions.
In Wisconsin, the public has access to CCAP, which shares with the world private matters probate, adoptions and other family law matters in addition to criminal records.
The Wisconsin Circuit Court records can be accessed via the Internet.

When a criminal record is expunged, it should no longer appear on CCAP.
